Joyce Parra joined San Diego County Credit Union’s Business Development team in 2012. As part of her role, she conducts seminars and workshops focused on financial literacy at colleges, universities, high schools, and SDCCU partner companies to bring financial tips, awareness and information to people from all over. Parra has more than 14 years of experience in financial services spanning across a variety of industries, including banking, non-profits and education. She has acquired financial literacy knowledge and information from experience in her career, which also includes time spent as an educator. Parra came to the United States as young teenager from Lima, Peru. She received her B.A. and M.A. from San Diego State University and has been involved in the areas of education, business and entrepreneurship.
