Janet Beronio is currently Regional President for Caesars Entertainment, overseeing the operations of Harrah’s Rincon (as well as serving as its General Manager) and Harrah’s Ak-Chin.

Beronio began her career with Caesars in 1984 as Associate General Counsel with Harrah’s Casino Hotels, where her responsibilities included handling legal, governmental, and risk management affairs for Harrah’s gaming properties in northern Nevada. In 1994, she was named Vice President and General Manager for Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin, the company’s first Indian gaming property. Taking on leadership of the property during its development phase, she oversaw the grand opening and led the property through nine successive years of growth, including the development of a hotel in 2001. During her tenure at Ak-Chin she built successful relationships with the tribe and she also became a well-known figure in the community, serving as a founding director of the Phoenix Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In recognition of her leadership, Beronio was the recipient of the Harrah’s Corporate Excellence Award, the company’s highest executive honor, in 1998.

In 2003, Beronio accepted the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort. She oversaw the construction and grand opening of the resort’s $168 million expansion in 2004, and is currently guiding the latest expansion, which includes a second 21-story hotel tower, convention center, expanded pool garden with a swim-up bar, and a Mexican restaurant. In 2012, Beronio was named Regional President of Harrah’s Rincon and Harrah’s Ak-Chin, assuming executive management responsibility for both properties.

Beronio serves on the Board of Directors of the North San Diego Business Chamber, the Cal State San Marcos College of Business Administration Advisory Board and on the Advisory Board of the San Diego State University Hospitality & Tourism Management School. In 2007, Beronio received the North County Philanthropy Council’s Volunteer Award. In 2008 she was named one of The Great Women of Gaming and received the Proven Leader Award from Casino Enterprise Management magazine. In 2009 she was presented with the San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award and in 2011 received the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year Exemplary Award and the San Diego Magazine Woman of the Year-Honorable Mention Award.

Beronio also serves as the Chairwoman of the Caesars Foundation, a 501(c )(3) organization which is the philanthropic arm of Caesars Entertainment, Inc., a position she has held since 2009. One of the Foundation’s principal strategic areas of giving nationally and internationally is senior issues. The Caesars Foundation is a major sponsor of Meals on Wheels, Second Wind Dreams, National Parks Trust, and the American Cancer Society.

Prior to her career with Caesars, Beronio served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland and her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego.
