What advice would you give your 25-year-old self?
It's tempting to take the first job offered to you. Before accepting any job, make a list of things you value in a company/business to avoid jumping around from firm to firm later, especially if the move is lateral. Stay patient and become an expert in your respective role, then go after that promotion. If your needs aren't being met or your manager does not share your values, then it's time to leave.
Who is your business hero? Why?
Geraldine Weiss (DoB 03/16/1926). The world of finance was and continues to be a male-dominated profession. However, that did not stop Weiss from obtaining a degree in Business and Finance from UC Berkeley. In 1962, she was looking for work as a stockbroker.
What are you most proud of in your career?
While working at Lehman Brothers, I had an opportunity to train and mentor new hires, interns, and consultants. I am happy to see many of my former colleagues move into leadership positions within the financial industry.
Why do you support women in business?
I wanted to be a part of the Women's Week Strategy team to learn more deeply about the challenges women face in the business world. My daughter is 3 years old, and I want to learn how best to support her to live a truly fulfilling life, while attaining her most ambitious goals.
