As Mallika Chopra’s TEDx Talk begins, she starts with a story with which we are all too familiar: while speaking to an audience about lofty concepts like intent, wellness, balance, and purpose, she heard an ongoing parallel conversation in her head asking why she had a chocolate chip cookie and caramel macchiato right before getting on stage, thinking about the dry cleaning she forgot to pick up on the way to work, and contemplating her daughter’s soccer game after work.

We’ve all been there, right?  Doing something while thinking about something else.  Having dinner with friends while texting or responding to emails.  Worrying about the kids while at work, and then stressing about work while spending time with the kids.  In a sense, trying to “do it all” and “have it all,” while feeling so taxed that we end up thinking we have done nothing well.  At some point, something’s gotta give.

From such a place emerged Mallika’s new book, Living with Intent, in which she chronicles her attempt to find purpose in each day and regain the balance in her life.  In the course of sharing her journey, Mallika provides steps each of us can take to slow down and begin living with more intent, focus, and purpose.

Mallika will join us for Women’s Week to share her story of how she transformed her life through her INTENT action plan: Incubate, Notice, Trust, Express, Nurture, and Take Action. Mallika’s insights will help us all come closer to fully living the lives we truly intend!

Mallika Chopra is a busy mom of two, a successful entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Intent.com and Intent Blog, and author of three books: 100 Promises to My Baby, 100 Questions from My Child, and her current work, Living with Intent: My Somewhat Messy Journey to Purpose, Peace, and Joy.
